Preparations
The joints must be clean and free from oil, grease and loose particles. Degrease metal surfaces and sand off loose paint from previous applications.
Sizing:
The median depth of the joint must not be less than 5 mm, if moving.
Bottom strip:
Use a bottom strip with closed cells that does not absorb water. The strip should be 3 – 4 mm wider than the width of the joint. Use a blunt tool to tamp down the strip.
Priming:
For highly absorbent surfaces, the joints must have a primer consisting of 1 part product + 2 parts water. This primer must be left to dry approx. 1 hour @ + 20°C.
Application:
Apply the product using a joint gun or a compressed air spray gun. Press the product into the substrate in order to prevent any pockets of air forming. Smooth out the product after application, using a suitable tool such as a rubber or steel spatula, a damp sponge or a brush. Protect the joint against water splashing on it for the first few days.
Cleaning of tools:
Tools are to be cleaned with water, straight away after use. Stains are to be removed in the same way.
