Painting the floors

Take care of your floors with Colorex.

Wooden floors

Preliminary work

Fine sandpaper is used when sanding new and wood-cleaned floors. Prior to varnishing and intermediate sanding, use fine sandpaper to prevent or reduce the rise of fibers. Wax and dirt are removed from previously painted surfaces. The surface must then be treated with fine sandpaper.

Coating

Suitable products are Strong Golvfärg or Dimension Golvfärg. Dimension gives a more durable surface to, for example a wooden staircase. When coating, the first thin layer is applied, e.g. Solo varnish. Then apply evenly over 1-3 coats using a wide brush or floor roller. Do not work with varnish for too long.

Maintenance

All floor materials are cleaned with floor cleaners according to the manufacturers’ recommendations.

Concrete and linoleum floor

Preliminary work

The surface must be clean. Wash, rinse with water and allow to dry well. Oil stains are removed with solvent. When processing concrete, fresh concrete must harden properly before processing. When processing linoleum, always sample a small area before starting work to identify any wax residue. If the paint does not dry or remains sticky, wax xylene or a suitable diluent on the entire surface before painting.

Coating

Strong Golvfärg or Dimension Golvfärg are suitable for pigmented surfaces and Solo for transparent lacquered surfaces. Dilute the first layer with 20% solvent. Apply paint or varnish with a brush, roller or spray. For greater wear resistance, chips can be mixed into the varnish layer before the Solo layer is applied.

Maintenance

All floor materials are cleaned with floor cleaners according to the manufacturers’ recommendations.
