Blocka

Paint indoors, Primer

Fully matte and washable urethane alkyd-based barrier coating for renovating interior surfaces with soot, nicotine, water and other damaged areas. At least two layers reduce the risk of penetration of branches even on old wooden surfaces. Heavily “bleeding” branches may require resin-rite varnish or shellac. Blocka is also suitable for ceiling paint, especially for tightened ceilings and/or surfaces treated with adhesive paints.

Application

Before applying the product
Always start by reading the instructions on the container, and remember to be meticulous from the very start of the paint job. The proper tools and careful preparations, are prerequisites for successful results. Stir the paint thoroughly before you start applying the product. The ambient temperature is another factor that determines the end result. Do not apply the product if it is colder than +5°C. Wood surfaces: The surface to be treated must be clean, dry and solid. Scrape off any loose paint. Wash any previously painted surface with paint wash and rinse with water. Leave to dry completely. Apply putty to uneven surfaces. Sand lightly. Prime with undiluted Blocka, sand with fine-grit paper and wipe off any dust before finishing the application with paint. Iron and metal surfaces: Brush with a steel wire brush/sand and degrease greasy surfaces and prime at once to avoid corrosion. Remember to protect floors and furniture before starting the application.

Applying the product
Blocka is supplied ready to use. Apply using a suitable roller, brush or – after thinning 5% to 10% with white spirit – with a spray gun. We recommend using a brush if you are using the product to cover knots. On larger surfaces it may be advantageous to use a paint roller with a short nap before smoothing it with a lacquer paint brush. When painting with a roller, this will produce a stippled effect. In order to produce a smooth surface, you must do as follows: Assuming that you are applying the product on a ceiling: after applying the first coat. Move the roller in wet product, in the same direction as originally, using the same pressure and speed. All peaks will lie equally in the same direction. This will prevent shadows in different directions, giving a smooth appearance. Use the same product both for primer and for final application. Usually one application will suffice, but in some cases you will need two applications, letting the first application dry for a day before applying the second time. For surfaces with a lot of knots, proceed as follows: Apply Blocka thinly, and then let dry for 14 to18 hours. Then apply a second coat of Blocka.

After applying the product
Wipe off any excess product before cleaning the tools with white spirit. Close the lid of the container properly before storing it out of reach of children. Any residue of the product should not be disposed of in the drains, but should be disposed of in a proper and approved manner. We care about the environment, and so should you.

Care
Use a soft cloth moistened with water, and some mild detergent to wipe the surface. Never use cleaning alcohol for cleaning paints or lacquers.
