Application

Before applying the product
Always start by reading the instructions on the container, and remember to be meticulous from the very start of the paint job. The proper tools and careful preparations, are prerequisites for successful results. Stir the paint thoroughly before you start applying the product. The ambient temperature is another factor that determines the end result. Do not apply the product if it is colder than +5°C. The surface to be treated must be clean, dry and solid. Use a wire brush and/or sanding paper. Remove any loose, porous or decomposed wood and wood fibres. Wash any previously painted surface with a mold and algae removal agent and rinse with water. If there is mold on the surface it must be properly treated to prevent recurrence of the mold.

Applying the product
The surface to be treated must be dry. Stir the product thoroughly before you start applying it. Treat the surface with a brush, rag or sponge until the wood is saturated. Wait for approx. 20 minutes, and wipe off all the excess product, using a sponge or a rag. The product should penetrate the surface, not form a film on top of it. Do not paint in direct sunlight or if colder than +5°C. Repeat the treatment if the surface is dried out. Surfaces exposed to the sun, and non-saturated wood, may need treatment several times a year. Chinese Wood Oil is not suitable as a primer because of the high dry matter content. Hint: if after a few days the surface feels somewhat tacky, it is possible to remove the excess product by moistening the surface with white spirit and wiping it off.

After applying the product
Wipe off any excess product before cleaning the tools with white spirit. Close the lid of the container properly before storing it out of reach of children. Any residue of the product should not be disposed of in the drains, but should be disposed of in a proper and approved manner. The reason for this is that the product will cause problems in the sewage treatment plant. We care about the environment, and so should you.

NB! Rags contaminated with Orient Chinese Wood Oil may ignite spontaneously, and they must be neutralized by drenching with water or burning.

Care
Use a brush, sponge or soft cloth moistened with water, and some suitable detergent to wipe the surface. Flush, using water from your garden hose.
