Before applying the product
Always start by reading the instructions on the container, and remember to be meticulous from the very start of the paint job. The proper tools and careful preparations, are prerequisites for successful results. Stir the paint thoroughly before you start applying the product. The ambient temperature is another factor that determines the end result. Do not apply the product if it is colder than +5°C. The surface to be treated must be clean, dry and solid. Use a wire brush and/or sanding paper. Remove any loose, porous or decomposed wood and wood fibres. Wash any previously painted surface with a mold and algae removal agent and rinse with water. If there is mold on the surface it must be properly treated to prevent recurrence of the mold.
Applying the product
Use any brush suitable for the application of oil or wood stain. Apply to 1-2 planks at a time. The product must be allowed to penetrate the wood, but not to form a film. Avoid getting shiny spots on knots and saturated wood by waiting a few minutes, and then wiping with a rag moistened with water. The product should not form a film on the surface, but must penetrate into the wood. Be particularly careful to treat the joints and the end pieces.
After applying the product
Wipe off any excess product before cleaning the tools with water. Close the lid of the container properly before storing it out of reach of children. Any residue of the product should not be disposed of in the drains, but should be disposed of in a proper and approved manner. The reason for this is that the product will cause problems in the sewage treatment plant. We care about the environment, and so should you. NB! Rags contaminated with the product may ignite spontaneously, and they must be neutralized by drenching with water or burning.
Use a broom, sponge or soft cloth moistened with water, and some suitable detergent to wipe the surface. Flush, using water from your garden hose.
