Before applying the product
Always start by reading the instructions on the container, and remember to be meticulous from the very start of the paint job. The proper tools and careful preparations, are prerequisites for successful results. Stir the paint thoroughly before you start applying the product. The ambient temperature is another factor that determines the end result. Do not apply the product if it is colder than +5°C. The surface to be treated must be clean, dry and solid. Wash any previously painted surface with paint wash and rinse with water. Chalky surfaces, such as ceilings with whitewash or distemper, should be washed and primed with Blocka before application of the product. Surfaces with glossy alkyd paint must be sanded to a dull finish before the product is applied. Any iron parts such as nail heads should be primed with anti-corrosive paint first. If painting on a paper wallpaper, you should make a trial application to make sure the wallpaper does not peel off when painted with a water-based product. In such a case, prime the surface using a suitable blocking paint. This is also recommended when applying the product on surfaces damaged by smoking, soot or water. Remember to protect floors and furniture before starting the application.

 

Applying the product
Apply at least two coats of the undiluted product, using a roller, brush or – after thinning – with a spray gun. Ceilings must have a generous covering with the product in order to avoid uneven coverage and streaks. Apply the product cross-wise, and paint the entire wall or ceiling in one go. When painting with a roller, this will produce a stippled effect. In order to produce a smooth surface, you must do as follows: Assuming that you are applying the product on a ceiling: after applying the first coat. Move the roller in wet product, in the same direction as originally, using the same pressure and speed. All the high parts will lie in the same direction. Start in the darkest corner, and work your way towards the strongest light source. This will prevent shadows in different directions, giving a smooth appearance.

 

After applying the product
Wipe off any excess product before cleaning the tools with water. Close the lid of the container properly before storing it out of reach of children. Any residue of the product should not be disposed of in the drains, but should be disposed of in a proper and approved manner. The reason for this is that the product will cause problems in the sewage treatment plant. We care about the environment, and so should you.

 

Care
The surface can be wiped with a dry cloth. Never use cleaning alcohol for cleaning acrylate paint. Use a normal eraser to remove black marks caused by metal tools.
